bangbang023 Veteran Posted March 12, 2005 Veteran Share Posted March 12, 2005 I saw this yesterday over at WC and I thought, then too, that this theme is almost perfect except for the fact that the grey highlighting seems to be too harsh.

rbet
see the text in the titlebars of the tabs in Opera? Me neither. Also look at the icons in the compact start menu. Awesome otherwise. :) Edited March 31, 2005 by rbet

Hus
see the text in the titlebars of the tabs in Opera? Me neither. Also look at the icons in the compact start menu.Awesome otherwise. :) 585700973[/snapback] About Opera, Firefox has the same problem. What is it with browsers and hard-coded text colors? Nothing I can do about that...I did make the light-colored tabs/buttons for such a reason though. You could try using that. The icon issue was overlooked by me...I use 48x48 icons in the start panel, yours look to be 32x32, thats why you see the text. If you have SkinStudio installed, here is how to fix it. Edit the skin, and in the left pane, navigate to Start Panel->User Pane. Once you're there, in the right pane, change the width of the User Pane from 265 to 263 or one or two pixels less, until the text is no longer visible. If you don't have SkinStudio, you can edit the 'Bloss.UIS' with notepad, search for: [startPanel.UserPane] Then change PartWidth=265, to 263 or there abouts. Hope it helps. :)

Any other tips?
Hus
My apologies, it's in the XPStuff.xp file. Edit that with notepad and try the userpane width again... :)
rbet
doesn't work! :( I pushed it down to 250 and I don't see any changes. I am going to change it back to 270. Do you know what else could be causing this? edit: one more bug: the start menu looks great, but only until I move my mouse pointer over it. When I do, the translucency behind the text goes away *sometimes*, as can be seen from the screenie. I have to reload the theme when it happens. Any tips on that?
