WindowBlinds Vista (WindowBlinds 5.5) is available on Object Desktop and for registered users already.

But the public shareware version is due out imminently. It's being uploaded to the various download sites now and as soon as they're ready, it'll go live and we'll do the official announcement.

WindowBlinds 5.5 allows usres to use their existing WindowBlinds skins on Windows Vista AND users can convert their XP msstyles over to Vista as well using SkinStudio (http://www.skinstudio.net).

Stardock is also getting ready to start WindowBlinds 6 which will have a bunch of new features specifically for Windows Vista (custom blur effects, window texturing, and a lot more). Users who buy WindowBlinds 5.5 (anyone after March 1) will get WindowBlinds 6 for free when it becomes available.

Well, that blows. What about those of us who have a one year subscription to Object Desktop? Do we get it for free? I signed up in Feb. for OD.

If you have a current subscription to Object Desktop then you will receive the updates, even the pre-release versions.

Grrr.... I bought it Feb 24th... 2 days after it was available for registered users. I'd have waited if I knew. :pinch:

That means I'm screwed right?

What about everyone that bought it just after 5.5 was released? (Feb 22nd) Are you leaving us out?

It has been announced:

Stardock has also begun work on WindowBlinds 6 which will provide a host of native features to Windows Vista such as custom blur effects, Sidebar skinning, glass toolbar skinning, and some new features that Stardock is keeping under wraps. Users who purchased WindowBlinds 5 after February 1st will receive WindowBlinds 6 free. A beta of WindowBlinds 6 will be available for registered users shortly.

Thanks a lot! ;)

I'm about to upgrade to Vista after being a longtime WindowBlinds user under XP. What benefits are there? Any tips?

You can convert existing XP .msstyles for use with WindowBlinds on Vista.

Here is a video tour of Windows on Vista as well.

The most noted feature of WindowBlinds 5.5 is Vista support and the ability to use existing skins made for XP.
