-Hiroshi-
Ah good, you're adding the capability to skin the address bar/button area and adding sidebar support. Nice work guys.

Xerxes
Looks pretty meh to me :/ I used to really like WindowBlinds and there were some great themes. These days the themes just don't appeal to me anymore and the over use of transparencies just annoys me now (Vista's Aero is more then enough for me) oh well, each to their own I guess :p
UncleSpellbinder
As an Object Desktop Subscriber, this paragraph pleases me to no end! :D The first big change is that Object Desktop will be getting a big brother -- Object Desktop Ultimate edition. When this comes into being, all users with active Object Desktop accounts will be automatically upgraded to Object Desktop Ultimate for free. As a result, there will be two editions of Object Desktop -- Object Desktop and Object Desktop Ultimate.

Meshuggah
thanks but i ended up not liking it :(. I'm used to the standard theme, where the tabs are one size, while the dock itself is another size. This theme has the tabs extended and kind of wastes space.
Brandon Live Veteran Posted May 3, 2007 Veteran Share Posted May 3, 2007 Cool stuff, but I have a few complaints... 1) I'm not sure their blurred glass stuff is even using the DWM. If it is, they should really switch to using DrawThemeTextEx() so that you can actually read text that's on it regardless of the text color / background. 2) I'm disappointed they aren't putting resources into doing cool stuff with the DWM... like custom minimize/maximize animations, etc. All the stuff that WindowFX does chould be done so much better in Vista. I'd also like to see them do a cool virtual desktop implementation.
0sit0
I agree with Brandon... and the theme doesnt look that cool... way too transparent for my liking i guess
Island Dog
I agree with Brandon... and the theme doesnt look that cool... way too transparent for my liking i guess The screenshots are not about that particular theme. The screenshots are to show an early peek of WB6 and some of it's upcoming features. It still in early development and there are more things to come. Frogboy Administrators Posted May 10, 2007 Administrators Share Posted May 10, 2007 Yea, the WB6 screenshots are mainly to show that DWM blurring is supported along with Sidebar skinning (as well as skinning a lot of other elements in Vista). A new program, StyleVista will be released that lets users do a lot more effects (instead of having two seperate WindowFX's we're going to keep WindowFX on Windows XP and the Vista version StyleVista). Symphony
If i'd make some preview shots from a long waited popular software, i'd do my best to show the users the best what is possible with that software. Said that, there is nothing special on those pictures. :broken: Yes, you can skin all the bars and change transparency, but that's it. In both of those screenshots you can spot places where the text is unreadable and in my opinion transparency can be nice, but that is too much. Vista offers overlay, 3D and WDM desktop support out of the box: is this really the best they can do? Putting skins on windows and having rounded corners was nice some years ago, but now they have all the power of directx9 and mostly a decent 3D card. So comparing this to 2007, it is BS. Island Dog
These were the first screenshots and guaging from responses here and elsewhere, I wouldn't call it BS. It was also never said that this is "all" the features of WB6, it was a very early sneak peek. If there are some specific things you wanted to see, I would be interested in hearing what they are. :)
TruckWEB
How much resource will WindowBlind6 take from Vista? I've tried WB5 and 5.5 and both gave me a visible slowdown. All the effect are cool but at a performance price. WindowFX does not help. Much of the current theme are not to my taste. They used to be good, now many are simply over the top. Oh and where is Stardock on a good Expos? clone? Vista Virtual Desktop? You know, nice things that could be done with Vista...
