Scraggles
I want to make a piece of furniture incorporating old CPU's. Does anyone know where I could get some? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1211785-where-can-i-buy-non-functioning-cpus/ Share on other sites
Lingwo
I'd look on Ebay. I'm sure someone is selling faulty CPUs. A quick search brings loads of results. goretsky 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1211785-where-can-i-buy-non-functioning-cpus/#findComment-596385379 Share on other sites
Mindovermaster Global Moderator Posted May 2, 2014 Global Moderator Share Posted May 2, 2014 Yeah, ebay is your best chance. Or work in the junk yard. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1211785-where-can-i-buy-non-functioning-cpus/#findComment-596385505 Share on other sites
n_K
Depends what kinda CPU you want, if you're talking old P1 and whatnot, they'll be expensive because of the higher amounts of gold in them (which salvagers want). If however you just want dies to use, look up eprom or rom dies on ebay, not sure if they'll have them or whatnot but they'll probably be much cheaper. leesmithg
If you lived in England Or the U.K. I would had sent a working one, you could then mash it up a bit and make it non-working. Do you want actual CPUs? Or are you classifying an entire tower as a CPU?
