if you like soccer pro evolution soccor is the defining game for the genre so you'd want that (its PS2 exclusive). if you're into shooting then PS2 or xBox will do... personally i'd go for PS2 because of the huge quantity of games for it. Halo is supposed to be a good shooter but Killzone (PS2 exclusive) and Timesplitters (which isn't PS2 exclusive, but hey) will do just as good IMO.

It all comes down to what meets your needs more. If you like soccer games, there is a much wider selection available for the PS2. Also, as an owner of both an XBOX and the first release PS2, I have to admit that there are still, generally, better titles coming out for the PS2 itself. However, if you dive into the realm of online gameplay, the PS2 can't hold a candle to XBOX coupled with XBOX live. Simply put, it will be the best online gaming experience you've had.

About the PSP, you really should look at the initial titles being released and see if there's anything you'll need. Secondly, look at your daily habits. Do you have time to play a hand held a lot or do you find yourself in front of the TV more where a home console would be better suited to your needs?

Well, Dolby Digital and DTS are different sound standards, the XBox only uses Dolby Digital. The only console able to output DTS is the PS2, although it seems only on DVD's sinces games are not made with DTS sound.

eh, no.

Maybe I should reword this then.

The PS2 has an onboard DTS Decoder, therefore can decode DTS and play it to any digital speakers via a digital output source, and in the PS2's case it is optical.

It seems I was wrong about the games, since some games are infact encoded with DTS sound.

The XBox does not have an onbuild DTS decoder, although it can pass through DTS signals. These DTS signals would have to be output via a digital source to a DTS capable decoder, either built in with surround speakers or a standalone decoder.

And at least try and backup what you think rather than just posting "eh, no."
