Theres too many threads like this now. Theres a simple way to settle this. I bought a PSP my mate was jealoud but didnt wanna copy me so he bought a DS, everyone cussed him so much because its shyte he bought a PSP and now he cant even sell his DS because no1 wants it. You work out which is better :)

both are great consoles, i own a ds and will soon own a psp also.

the only reason i'm gettin a psp though is cos my ipod is on it's way out and i don't like ipods, so this seems like a nice lookin alternative (the size isn't an issue as it goes in my bag when i'm walkin around anyways.)

the ds has a cartridge comin out from nintendo that'll play mpeg4 video and mp3 using an SD slot. apparently sound quality and video playback on it a very good. it's called play-yan or sth. should be out in uk around summer time.

keep in mind that the PSP when available pretty much has all that it can do on it already.....where as the DS has some additional tricks up their sleeve, aka the PDA type program for it, the future media applications as well as the wireless applications in the works....and basic number crunching for me goes like this 2 will always be greater than 1....screen wise that is......Nintendo for Life, coming from a dude who's played/owned all the systems....

Sony intends to release a variety of new add-ons for the PSP in the near future including a word processor, spreadsheet, calculator, voice to text functionality, web browser and an email client. Not to mention a variety of 3rd party add-ons such as a camera, keypad etc.

Depends on what you want.

You really technically cant compare the two since they are in-direct competitors, but since they are both handheld.. I guess you can in a sense.

If you want innovative games, and arnt looking for the most amazing portable graphics, get the DS. Its fun and expanding, Nintendo is gonna put some palm software on it soon I hear.

If you want a Playstation 2 in your pocket, go for the PSP. Because thats what it is. Just be aware of the lackluster battery life and uber reflective screen of doom (which means its hard to play outside in the sun)

If you have a job and not shy of spending your money buy both - im currently addicted to mario 64... waiting for UK PSP release (when i have enough money) and gettin one of them :D

for style graphix, and ultimately coolness PSP, Games as well if you like what the playstation has to offer (I used to own a PS1 so goin back to GT and ape escape.... joy)

for games, innovative gameplay and future inhancements DS - i for one am VERY pleased at online funtionality, plus the whole wireless mario kart makes me happy as a joy chimp

but like i said, BOTH!!!
