MediaSoldier
Hey, ive been using firefox for very long time now and really want to switch to Opera but i cant really as its so slow at opening the pages and it gets really annoying. Is there some kind of tweak to speed things up a little? Thanks , LM Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/488311-opera-slow-need-help/ Share on other sites
halcyoncmdr
I always have had Firefox always being slower on my computer. Are you using the default settings in Opera? And are you using anything like Fasterfox in FF? FF has always been slower on my computer at least, I don't know about anyone else. Steve Gosselin
Try this: opera:config - Performance -- Max Connections Server: 16 -- Max Connections Total: 64 -- Network Buffer Size: 32 -- Uncheck --> Reduce Max Persistent HTTP Connections Also, Go to Tools --> Preferences --> Advanced --> Browsing --> Try Redraw instantly (loading zone) Have fun! :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/488311-opera-slow-need-help/#findComment-587804403 Share on other sites

DynaBMan
One thing I had been running into with Opera was the way it would seemingly freeze at the very last of loading a page, right at the last two or three items. I played around with it, trying different things and this weekend, I disabled the css file I was using to block ads and went back to Ad Muncher. It is amazing at the difference that has made. It may not work for everyone, but it surely worked for me.
