gandolas
This thread lists all official stand-alone modules. You will need to download an AutoPatcher 5.6 based release (anything from June 2007 onwards). Some things to have in mind: You may post modules for them to be approved and labeled as official. Please refrain from posting retail/commercial stuff. For a module to be official it has to be packed and signed by nw_raptor (a.k.a. Antonis Kaladis), theblazingangel, or gandolas. I'm testing a new way to distribute the Stand-Alone modules: in a package with several programs. The file size is still small, and includes sereral modules. It's also AIO compatible, that is, it will work with any AutoPatcher version (in any language) that is AIO compatible. Right now, it will only work with: AutoPatcher XP (PTG and ENU), 2000 (PTG and ENU), 2003 (PTG and ENU), Vista (all languages) and XP/2003 x64 (ENU). So here are the modules: Stand-Alone Modules (modules by Renato Ribeiro, Beltman713, Joe Biellik, Adaman02) Download here - 6.37 MBExtra Modules gathers several modules in just one package. It includes7-Zip 4.42 (32 and 64 bit), CCleaner 1.41.0.544, Foobar2000 0.9.4.3, HashTab 1.11 (32 and 64 bit), Paint .NET 3.8 and Unlocker 1.8.5. 7-Zip 4.42 (module by Neothunder) 7-Zip is a file archiver with the highest compression ratio. The program supports 7z, ZIP, RAR, CAB, ARJ, CPIO, RPM, DEB, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR formats. AVG Anti-Virus Free 7.5 (module by matkay521225) Download here (ENU) - 22.9 MBAVG Anti-Virus Free is for private, non-commercial, single home computer use only. This new 7.5 version with improved performance and full compatibility with the latest Windows Vista version is available. CCleaner 1.41.0.544 (module by Joe) CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. Bruzeb
According to http://www.getpaint.net/download.html Paint.NET is not compatible with Windows 2000. Yesterday I tried to install it not knowing that and in fact got an error message. Hope it helps to correct the info in that module. Barroco
Obrigado, Gandolas. Quando colocar um post tenho que faz?-lo de umdos seguintes modos: You may post modules for them to be approved and labeled as official. Please refrain from posting retail/commercial stuff. For a module to be official it has to be packed and signed by nw_raptor (a.k.a. Antonis Kaladis), theblazingangel, or gandolas. Por favor, quando puderes, explica-me como fazer aquilo que o forum pede. Obrigado, Thank. I?m sure you are Portuguese. Even so, if you don't understand it let me know, ok?, Bye Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/570386-stand-alone-modules-for-autopatcher/#findComment-588669215 Share on other sites
gandolas
Yes, I'm Portuguese. :) Please use only English in this forum... For that, you have to create a module by yourself, check if the software EULA allows that, post it somewhere were we can download it. Then I, Blaze or Antonis will test it and make it Official, so that it doesn't "break" the Official label in AutoPatcher's window. gandolas
^ That link is down because we spent a lot of bandwidth of our site, so it had to be pulled out. I'm now testing a new package that has several of the Stand-Alone modules: 7-Zip, CCleaner , Foobar 2000, HashTab, Paint.NET and Unlocker. It should work in any June and future July ENU, PTG and PTB release. You can download it here. smilinjim
^ That link is down because we spent a lot of bandwidth of our site, so it had to be pulled out. Thanks for the info. Looking all over the web for this module last week drove me nuts. I believe the Reader module would be among the most valuable and sought after, hence probably the bandwidth demand. I am looking to see if I can host it. What would be its size, and was the bandwidth draw ghastly; (will my ISP boot me, too?) In the meantime, what about a possible solutions like a free public file hosting service with unlimited download bandwidth and potentially unlimited time, such as http://www.zonderfiles.com? I have not actually checked out this particular one, but have used files-upload.com, and have liked that well. Although not as elegant as a private server, could this work? Also, if filehippo and majorgeeks, etc., host regular full and update releases, would they consider hosting stand-alone modules, as well? Perhaps some of the mirrors, maybe? They might make good torrents, [though I am amazed at how few seed]. I would guess Reader would be hot, but the others would be useful to many, also. Maybe you do not need to put this on your private box, and in so doing, it might again be available to the evidently wide population with demand. I am going to check out the zonderfile thing as it looks like that might be useful for other things, too, but maybe it will help here as an alternative approach. I know I do not have many posts. I am grateful for the creation and hosting of the modules and for the many contributions that make all of AutoPatcher possible and so useful to us all. Thanks for that and for your consideration of this idea. jfree81762
The AVG, Standalone(both) and TBird installers still show PTG, haven't ran them to see if they'll crash APXP again. Dysprosium
Hey, sorry about taking so long to get back to you, but I've been swamped. As you probably already know, the modules are now all working as expected. Cool. Just one query though, and in no way a complaint; why is Adobe Reader not is its redistributable form (about 23MB as opposed to 92MB). Maybe a stupid question, but thought I might as well ask.
