zeph
Hey guys. Like many of you, I like Google's Chrome browser. But for those who like to stay on the bleeding-edge, like me, it can be annoying downloading a new build snapshot every time a new build is posted. I saw a guy who wrote a nightly updater app but it wasn't all I was looking for, so I wrote my own. Since it's based off this guy's app called Chromium nightly updater, I called mine Chrome Nightly Updater+ because I'm unoriginal. Anyway if this is something that would interest you, you can check out the ugly page I made for it at http://friedwalrus.com/cnu+ Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/669672-chrome-nightly-updates/ Share on other sites
Dessimat0r
Made in Delphi? :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/669672-chrome-nightly-updates/#findComment-589793224 Share on other sites
:: Lyon ::
lol don't know anyone who's still using Delphi. I'm downloading now. It looks simple and easy to use (don't really care about the UI) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/669672-chrome-nightly-updates/#findComment-589793280 Share on other sites
zeph
No, it's not made in Delphi...although I admit it's written in an old language. Visual Studio 6 was the only dev software I had access to when I started the project, once I get a few more things in I'll most likely re-write it entirely in .NET. Just curious, where'd you get Delphi from anyway? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/669672-chrome-nightly-updates/#findComment-589793358 Share on other sites

parseint
Hi, Thank you for the idea behind this program. I took the liberty to create a version with a couple of more features: - changelog support - automatic update - Select build number You can find the new version here Hope you like it, please give me feedback on what you want added/fixed. zeph
Eh, I like writing and using my own software. I honestly don't care much if people use it I just thought it'd be a useful tool for Chrome users like myself and wanted to help some people out. The best part of using my own software is I can add and change things as I see fit and don't have to rely on anyone else. wellofsouls
supernova_00 said: or you can just use Google's version ;)More info... well, it's just for weekly dev-channel releases, still far from what we nightly (hourly?) testers use ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/669672-chrome-nightly-updates/#findComment-589812398 Share on other sites
supernova_00
Yeah but at least those builds are tested first by google before being released. Better than getting a screwed up build, having to uninstall chrome and install a hopefully working build ;) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/669672-chrome-nightly-updates/#findComment-589813692 Share on other sites
TakeNothingBack
Question, what's with my Chrome and never showing that damn update thing in about? How long do you usually need to wait? EDIT: It's cool now, I downloaded a nightly through the second installer as opposed to the Google one and the update function works now. That is odd...I'm using the dev builds using the switcher and its doing the same thing. This reminds me of the non google labeled nightlies... Just use the zipped version and unzip to anywhere you want, and it'll have a different profile not interfering with Chrome's.
