Street Fighter HD confirmed for Nov. 25 on PSN, Nov. 26 on XBLA

Recommended Posts

Confirming yesterday's rumor that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be making its long-awaited debut on Xbox Live Arcade next Wednesday, November 26th, Capcom has also officially dated the PS3 version ? for a day earlier, on Tuesday, November 25th. The PS3 version of the game will also come with a exclusive, free bonus: hip-hop tracks inspired by Street Fighter from DJ Qbert, Redman, Hieroglyphics, and others as a digital album download.

PSN releases have historically been "locked" to Thursdays ? much as XBL releases hit on Wednesdays ? so is this a sign of change? Not likely, as Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 27, making this an exception to the "rule." (Konami is releasing the Metal Gear Online MEME expansion next Tuesday as well.) Multiplatformers: which version of SSFIITHDR will you be getting?

We should do a NEOWIN Tier style Competition for both XBLive and PS3 after we get used to the way it controls.

Lol, used to way it controlls? It's pretty much just a facelift of a 16 year old game. quarter-circle forward, back for 2 seconds, forward, down for 2 seconds, up. Lol. Let's get a tournament going right away!

I don't know, I played the demo of this, and I didn't find anything special except for the redrawn, high-res graphics.

Perfect timing for the Thanksgiving holiday. My cousin and I played the SNES game for hours and hours during Thanksgiving and Christmas way back when. Should be a nice trip down memory lane.

I'm down for a Neowin tournament as well <places quarter on screen>

so now I have to buy another version of SFII... damn... better check out the demo first.. I made the mistake of buy the last one and hated the hyper fighting..

Yup same, I have no idea why they made the changes they did

The only thing I wish now, is that the 360's d-pad is better. I find it hard to pull off quarter circle motions on the d-pad... And I have been playing fighters since SF2!

totally agree on the d-pad, but isn't it possible to use the joystick instead?

Yah, I think you can get the Dead or Alive joystick. I'm sure there are other joysticks out there, depending on how hardcore you are. I'm getting the PS3 version, although I know there will probably be more competition on the XBOX360 side. Oh well, I don't use the joystick, and the PS3 pad (although not as good as PS2) is light years better for fighters than the 360.

It'll definitely be 1200 points at least, possibly even 1600 but if it IS 1600, I wont be buying it.

I was in the beta for this and I loved it, it looks fantastic and it plays really well, 1200 points is an insta-buy for me!

$15 sounds pretty pricey until you consider they had to go through and re-handdraw everything in HD, put new music, rebalance things...etc.

$15 is a good price. Obviously, I would like it to be cheaper, but I don't mind paying $15 for clearly a good piece of work.

Do they have a demo for the 360 up?

Surprisingly no..

Super Street Fighter II HD Delayed In The UK - Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix will be out this week on Xbox Live Arcade. And in the US, it'll also be out on the PlayStation Network. But the UK? No dice. A Capcom rep has told Edge that, when it comes to the PS3, the game "will not be released in the UK this week and has no official release date". No official release date?

 .

Not good for our British friends who own a PS3..

    • Hello, It would appear so, according to https://finance.yahoo.com/news/how-to-hide-your-home-on-google-maps-apple-maps-204146687.html. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Hello, The Nvidia Founders Edition 3080 video card is approximately six years old, correct? Have you looked into whether replacement fans are available for it? Perhaps replacing those will improve cooling, especially when combined with cleaning the card's heatsink and replacing the thermal interface materials. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Hello, While ~104 GB of space may seem generous (at least compared to other e-readers which have 8-32GB), I feel at this price point the device should have a Micro SDXC card slot for expansion, particularly if it allows audio books to be installed and played. I hope to see more reviews of 6" phone-sized e-readers on Neowin in the future. It will be interesting to see how they compare. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky

Sandboxie allows you to run your browser, or any other program, so that all changes that result from the usage are kept in a sandbox environment, which can then be deleted later. Sandboxie is a sandbox-based isolation software for 32- and 64-bit Windows NT-based operating systems. It is being developed by David Xanatos since it became open source, before that it was developed by Sophos (which acquired it from Invincea, which acquired it earlier from the original author Ronen Tzur). It creates a sandbox-like isolated operating environment in which applications can be run or installed without permanently modifying the local or mapped drive. An isolated virtual environment allows controlled testing of untrusted programs and web surfing. Sandboxie is available in two flavors Plus and Classic. Both have the same core components, this means they have the same level of security and compatibility. What's different is the user interface the Plus build has a modern Qt based UI which supports all new features that have been added since the project went open source. The Classic build has the old no longer developed MFC based UI, hence it lacks support for modern features, these features can however still be used when manually configured in the Sandboxie.ini. • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
