Meh, I'll probably get it because as a long time Final Fantasy fan that is what I do, but to me FF13 was pretty damn disappointing, and this is essentially more of the same.

I'm in the same situation as a FF fan but having said that there is a slim chance that this could turn out different. I was ok with the new battle system and leveling system etc in FF13 the problem was with the big chunk of linear levels and lack of any good character dev. This could fix those 2 problems now and be more open and give us better character dev also. Gonna have to wait and see how it turns out.

Me too. Playing it again to finish all missions. :D

Looking forward to play this one.

I played it on release on PS3 then went through and 100% it on Xbox 360. It was a glorious 200 hours that I hope to do all over again with XIII-2 :D

Of all the ones to do another sequel too...

Why do they always pick the (majority) crap ones.

Go back and do a FFIX or FF6 Sequel ^_^.

Or atleast get the developers from those and make another good Final Fantasy game...Been so long since I have played a decent one, not counting replaying the older, epic FFs.

the quicktime events look good, and finally we have an instant battle engine, i hated the one in FF13

God I hate QT events with a burning passion. It's the stupidest mechanic ever.

Got a question, the last FF I played religiously was FF7, can I play 8-12 on the PS3? I bought 13 a couple of weeks ago been playing it for a bit

11 is an MMO while 10, 10-2 and 12 are PS2. You can still play 8 and 9 on PS3 unless you have a backwards compatible PS3 which can play PS2 games.

Ok, so I'm confused by your answer .. the only way I can play the other on my PS3 is if I have a backwards compat PS3?

You can play the PS1 games on any PS3.

You can only play the PS2 games on a backwards compatible PS3 (the early PS3s).
