The City of London Corporation have announced a deal with The Cloud to introduce high-speed wireless internet to London's Square Mile.
Plans to supply the city with wireless access will take shape over the next few months, with The Cloud predicting most of the City to be Wi-Fi enabled within six months. Organisers will use existing features, such as lamp posts and signs, to harbor the equipment.
The Cloud are Europe's largest supplier of Wi-Fi, and will allow service providers to deliver wireless to their customers using a unique open network concept and will be providing high-speed internet, music, video and voice over IP facilities. There is currently no free access planned.

s important to provide this technology to
maintain our position as the world's leading international financial centre.
"City workers and visitors will be able to use wireless broadband to work more efficiently; staying in touch with their office via hand-held devices while on the move," he added.
