Dell announces the Alienware m15 gaming laptop with lightweight and slim design

Traditional gaming laptops used to be bulky, but that has changed with a streak of new beasts introduced by several laptop makers this year. In May, Razer unveiled its 15.6-inch Blade gaming laptop, claimingto be the world's thinnest in its category at 0.66 of an inch. A month later, MSI debuted new gaming laptops with slim bezels at Computex 2018. Now, Dell is following suit.

Dell announced today the Alienware m15, which it claims to be the "lightest and thinnest" 15-inch gaming laptop from the Alienware lineup. The Alienware m15 sports a 15.6-inch display and weighs 4.78 pounds, 1.02 pounds lighter than the Alienware 13. It also measures 14.3-inch x 10.8-inch and less than 0.83-inch from the back to front cover.

Under the hood, the laptop is powered by 8th generation Intel processors coupled with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 OC and 1070 Max-Q graphics cards with support for virtual reality and the Alienware Graphics Amplifier. Additionally, it includes the Alienware Command Center technology with AlienFX RGB lighting, Alienware Cryo-Tech 2.0 for cooling, and an optional 90Whr battery that Dell claims can last up to 17 hours in idle mode.

It will also ship with the new Alienware mSeries keyboard featuring 1.4mm of key travel, anti-ghosting keys, and four Alien-FX enabled zones. The Alienware m15 will be shipped in Epic Silver and Nebula Red color options, with availability date slated for October 25 starting at $1,299.
