The popular Facebook social networking service certainly has a lot of secret plans and products up its sleeve but it looks like we will get a chance to see one of them up close and personal very soon. Reuters reports that Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that the company will "launch something awesome" sometime in the next week. Other than the fact that the product comes from Facebook's Seattle office the company has not revealed what it might be.
However there's already speculation that the "launch" might be one of several things. One is the long awaited Facebook app that uses the native features of Apple's iPad. Another product it could be is a possible photo sharing app for the iPhone. It might also be the product code named "Project Spartan", an HTML5- based service that could be a rival to Apple's app store.
Recently Facebook has been working on a new homepage design that could make it easier for users to navigate. The company has reportedly been talking about launching a public stock offering which might happen sometime in 2012. A recent small purchase of stock by an investment company gave Facebook a total current value of $70 billion. Not everything is perfect, however. The company is still facing a lawsuit from a trio of people who claimed that Zuckerberg basically stole their idea for a social networking site and are suing to see if Facebook has in their words "intentionally or inadvertently suppressed evidence."
