Nintendo has today issued a press release stating that Game Boy Advance is currently the best-selling console in North America by a considerable margin. No exact figures have been made available but, according to the release, around 45 percent of all the game consoles sold in North America last month were GBA systems.

Nintendo claims that the GBA outsold PlayStation 2 through the first six months of this year, and that six of the top 10 selling games in the country right now are for GBA. Sales of the GBA SP console are expected to receive something of a boost on September 8 when two new colors, onyx black and flame red, are launched.
