NVIDIA Reference Card - X-bit Labs | nV News | Guru3D | TrustedReviews | AnandTech *ALL NEW*
This is the stock reference card provided to review sites by NVIDIA. It is clocked at 400/1000 and isn't available for retail purchase.

eVGA - Guru3D | GDHardware.com *NEW*
eVGA is offering two models of their 7800GT. The first is essentially a reference card with an eVGA branded cooler slapped on. It has the default 400/1000 clocks and comes only with the standard-faire bundle items such as DVI-D-sub adapters, VIVO connectors, and a power splitter. The second model comes pre-overclocked to 445/1076 and ships with the full version of EA's Battlefield 2. eVGA has also recently introduced a lifetime warranty on its cards.

BFG Tech - [H]ard|OCP | Tweak Town *NEW*
Famous for offering most of their cards pre-overclocked and with lifetime warranties, BFG has made no exception with their 7800GT. The card comes clocked at 425/1050. The bundle is the standard stuff, with no games included. It does come with a copy of Ulead VideoSuite 9SE.

Leadtek - VR-Zone
Leadtek's cards have been known to be great overclockers. Their card comes overclocked at 450/1050 and bundles with two great games - Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. Chaos Theory is a great benchmark for your card's power when antialiasing and HDR are enabled.

XFX - Hot Hardware | The Tech Report | Neoseeker | Hexus.net
XFX's card also comes pre-overclocked at 450/1050. The bundle offers full versions of X˛: The Threat, Far Cry, and MotoGP 2. While no gamepad or t-shirt is included as with the XFX 7800GTX, most people would agree that games are more worthwhile. After all, that's what you bought your card for, right?

PNY
PNY's card doesn't come with any impressive features. It isn't pre-overclocked and doesn't come with any bundled games. PNY does however make solid video cards. For a limited time, if you buy one through Newegg you'll get a free 2GB mp3 player ($179.99 value) with purchase.

Point of View - Guru3D
This is a lesser known player in the video card market, but they have been around a while. Basically providing reference cards, the 7800GT is no exception. The core is clocked at the standard 400MHz, but the RAM however comes in at 1053MHz. It also comes with a very nice games bundle, which includes Far Cry, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and Thief 3: Deadly Shadows.

Asus *NEW*
The 7800GT from Asus appears to be a stock card with an Asus sticker slapped on the reference cooler. The clocks are stock (400/1000), and the bundle includes Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising, Project Snowblind, and Xpand Rally as well as some Asus branded software. An Asian hardware site has photos of what could be an upcoming revision of Asus's 7800GT.

Look for more cards to be added as information becomes available.

#8.1 Dodgy on 11 Aug 2005 - 21:41
waste of 50mb really...too short, a lot of it was black or had a logo on it, show me a proper trailer.
#8.2 AgEnTsMiTh on 12 Aug 2005 - 01:25
ummm Mabey that is why its called a "Teaser Trailer"?

#8.3 sinatosk on 12 Aug 2005 - 09:13
yeah I know that... thing is like someone said below... it barley shows anything... didn't get me interested... didn't "tease" me at all

It's hard to get fired up for anything form these guys, since HL2 fell short in my book...

How so? Just because it was late?

It did with me as well, a little bit. I enjoyed it but I didn't think it was as well done as the original Half-Life. A lot of the time I felt like I was playing a tech demo with Valve simply showing us what they can do with their engine. I didn't think the environments were as memorable as the ones from Half-Life either (such as the metal area with those green things trying to crush you (I don’t know what they are called), the helicopter fight by the Dam, the cliff face
#9.3 nookadum on 12 Aug 2005 - 10:47
Well, HL2 didn't suck, but it certainly didn't feel like a tech demo since it is just a very very modified HL1 (which is based on the Quake 1 engine) that can support higher textures and pixel shaders coupled with the Havok (2.0) physics engine (as seen in Pariah and Painkiller). But they did the single player well and it was enjoyable for the moment.

But Doom 3 was a lot more scary with the ambience and stuff, even if there were these *plastic* skins and textures everyone was saying.

Anyway, each to his own. I like both games, no need to be biased.

rubbish, half life 2 is the best game we've seen for years. Most review sites agree. It's far more emmersive than any game I can think of recently.
#9.5 nookadum on 12 Aug 2005 - 12:31
It's not the best, it was great, but not perfect. Once you beat the single player game, that's it. We have to either wait for the expansion, or settle with the (boring and repetative, IMO) HL2DM/CSS. Same thing goes with Doom 3, but RoE did make it a bit better though.

Again, to each their own.

It's a pitty some guys don't read the post before they comment, I never said the game sucked. I said I persoanally thought it fell short, VERY poor vehicle play, game was choppy at times, long load times between screens. I mean come on this game was well over a year late and this was the best they could do. Like I said I was dissapointed, it fell short of the hype... I played the game through unloaded it and I couldn't even tell you where the disk is I was so pleased about the missing 50.00...

I saw this from Gamespot yestersay. I know its a teaser trailer but it wasn't very exciting and barely shows anything.
(2 replies) #11 DirtyLarry on 11 Aug 2005 - 22:10
What a waste of a download. As xpgeek says it barely shows anything at all, and I maybe, key word being maybe, saw one scene that was actual gameplay.
#11.1 Cole on 12 Aug 2005 - 00:31
The trailer was to tease you, make you interested enough into the game, to make you buy the game out of curiosity of the story it will reveal.
#11.2 DirtyLarry on 12 Aug 2005 - 02:56
That was pretty much my point though, it did not tease me and.or get my hopes up in the slightest. I never though I would say this about something related to HL2 as it is one of my favorite games ever, but it looked like the same old same old, but not as good. So yes, I indeed know the puporse of a trailer, as sometimes they are even reffered to as teasers, but it just fell short. I really did not even think it was anywhere near a must have by what I have been teased with so far.
#12 Hurmoth on 12 Aug 2005 - 00:13
Can't wait for the release!

Hmm, so what the heck is the HL2: LostCoast that has appeared on Steam?
#13.1 Eclipse™ on 12 Aug 2005 - 03:53
Lost Coast will be a single-level add-on to Half-Life 2 that will feature High Dynamic Range Lighting as its "main attraction," of sorts.

You can read more about it here:

Whoa pretty sweet!

*orgasm*
#17 spiffy0517 on 12 Aug 2005 - 06:37
This was the teaser they played during Gphoria. I thought it was pretty cool. I personally didn't judge HL2 by what other games had set before it i played it as if it were a stand alone game. that being said i had a ton of fun. this teaser got me psyched to play the expansion.

Can't download, keep getting errors

Wtf did I just see? Where is Gordon Freeman? Where is new stuff, omg, aftermath - 5 secs video weighting 60mb, thats just gross. Show us smth new, not the f!!!!ing gravity gun. That b!!!h should be pole dancing, not saving the world...omfg again
#19.1 Smigit on 12 Aug 2005 - 12:24
you ARE gordon, thats why you don't see him in game. Anyone who follows the series in the slightest would know that the chance of you ever seeing gordon freeman in game are a million to one, they intentiaonally kept mirrors out of the game for this very reason to keep the imersion factor up.

Alyx should be pole dancing? To quote yourself "OMFG", it's a game, go hire a dvd or play GTA SA
#20 chisss on 12 Aug 2005 - 14:41
that video sucked. I'm sorry but i've seen a hell of a lot better "Teasers" before. 130MB of video for 30 secs and most of it is like 2-3 secs and then it moves to the next "screenshot". They hve to do a better job to convince me of what this game can do and what is it going to be about so i can buy it.
#21 M2Ys4U on 12 Aug 2005 - 14:59
it compresses to 12MB using xvid, with no real noticable reduction in quality.
#22 neo_joel on 12 Aug 2005 - 16:11
such a tease lol, gonna be a sweet exp though, cant wait
#23 barcode on 13 Aug 2005 - 01:18
There are quite a lot of people missing why this trailer is great (at least to me). If you look close and think about stuff, it gives you quite a bit of plot information, and it is exactly what a trailer is supposed to be. A news flash: there most likely wont be anything revolutionary gameplay-wise besides so cool new ways to use the gravity gun and such. Of course, I could even be wrong and maybe they do have something up their sleeves. I think the point of Aftermath is to just have more fun doing what you did in HL2, and to continue the plot, which is exactly what I want it to be. Maybe others feel the same way?
