Reporting from a Massive Inc. upfront, the MTV Multiplayer blog has revealed that Activision Blizzard have just announced sequels to their biggest franchises. The event is designed to get advertisers interested in their game, and is already very popular in the film and TV industry. So far, all that's known about "Guitar Hero 5" is the name, but Activision have teasingly stated that the new Tony Hawk game arriving this October will "not...be play[ed] this game with a controller in your hands". The switched-on gamer will most likely jump to the conclusion that it will be exclusive to the Wii Balance Board, but it turns out that the game is still coming to PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS.

Activision's only other announcement was on the existence of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2", which is likely to please fans of the fourth iteration who were bitterly disappointed with "World at War". Finally, Bizarre Creations have announced they are working on a new James Bond game, unrelated to the storyline of the films and completely original. A new racing game is also expected (with future Project Gotham instalments looking unlikely) which has been described as "Mario Kart meets Forza".

Oh My God! Modern Warfare is awesome, haven't picked up World at War yet, might not as I'm still loving the online matches in MW. Let's hope Infinity Ward decide to pickup where they left off with CoD4.

World at War wasn't a bitter dissapointment, its return to the WW2 arena was unexpected but the game itself is solid. Don't get me wrong, its not enought to pull me away from CoD4, but its not a bad game.

Modern Warfare 2 should be awesome!

They did say they were going to be 'exploiting' these franchises.

Maybe they should just stop making new games all together then? Would that make you happy?

Why the hell don't they make TH games for PC anymore?

Thank god it isnt coming to PS2...PS2 needs to die.

I'm interested in MW2, possibly GH5 (but not likely because it's not coming for PS2 I'm not buying another guitar to use on my PS3 because that's just a waste) and Tony Hawk died out years ago in my eyes, after number 3 basically.
