Bethesda, the developers behind the hit game series Elder Scrolls and recently Fallout 3, have said in an interview that they will be announcing a game for Nintendo's Wii.

"We are going to make an announcement on a really big Wii game this year, we've got a couple of other things in the pipeline, and it's a format we're really looking at with the right approach,"

In an interview to Gameindustry.biz, Sean Brennan the European marketing director has said that they will be making a game for the Wii and will be aiming to create it aimed at a more mature audience to fill in the gap left by more casual and kid orientated games.

Discussing his own gaming habits, "I've got consoles at home but I wouldn't sit and play an 18-rated game with my family on the Wii,", giving insight to the much held stereotype giving to the Wii and its audience that is only interesting in more casual multi-player games.

He then commented on the current Wii market and how he thinks Bethesda making a game for the Wii with more mature themes than the current available will let them take control of that part fo the market.
"Is there space in the Wii market for that? I think there is, but again, it's all about finding out how big that is. Is it 5 per cent? If it's five per cent of the market and you can own that space it's worth doing because you can achieve volume. If you can't own it at five per cent, it's not worth doing, quite frankly,"

Drowning fears that Bethesda could be copying other companies and their current take on the Wii and what games to make for Nintendo's console, he said "We're not going to establish a new range and call it 'My Girly Game Range' or whatever these other companies are doing, it's so me-too and boring.

Very little is known on this game they are developing for the Wii platform, but it is assumed more will be revealed at either E3 or an announcement will be made late this year.

It will be a new IP but play suspiciously like Elder Scrolls. Wii players might like an RPG though.

It'd be pretty sweet to see a streamlined version of Morrowind on the Wii :-D
Add accurate sword swinging controls and it would be awesome, rather than side-to-side to do this move, up and down for this move etc. like other games.

Streamlined and Morrowind should never be in the same sentence.

I hope they use MotionPlus, things seem to have gone quiet on that front recently, unless I've just not been paying attention.
