Microsoft continues to redefine and focus the features of the free version of Hotmail... yep, you guessed it: another feature you now have to pay for. :(
MS has reduced the size limit for attachments to a paltry 512KB, leading to:
"This file is too large to be attached. Please remove attachments until the total size is less than 512KB or sign up for MSN Extra Storage to be able to send larger attachments."
So that basically means that if you want to send any meaningful file - say a spreadsheet or a presentation - then you have to 'upgrade', ditch it altogether and search for another (free) mail provider.
I guess Microsoft must really need the money and must really need the $19.95 a year.

If your mouse is now outside the Limited Warranty Period but stopped working within the Limited Warranty Period, Microsoft will still replace it free of charge, provided that you send in the enclosed coupon and required proof of purchase within 90 days from the date of this notice. If your Limited Warranty period has expired, Microsoft will extend it for 90 days from the date of this notice. If you have previously contacted Microsoft Product Support with regard to your mouse and are no longer eligible for no-charge personal support, Microsoft will waive any fee for paid personal support related to this condition. To receive your replacement mouse, if your current mouse is not working properly:
1. Fill out the enclosed coupon with your name, address, phone number, and Product ID number printed on the bottom of your mouse.
2. Include proof of purchase. The eligible forms of proof of purchase include:
a. A copy of your store receipt. Please write the Product ID number on the receipt.
b. A copy of your credit card receipt or statement. Please write the Product ID number on the receipt or statement.
c. The original label from your box containing the bar code. Cut it from the box and enclose it. Please write the Product ID number on it.
d. A photocopy of the bottom of your mouse showing the Product ID number. If the product ID number is not clearly legible, please write it on the copy.
e. You only need to send one of these forms of proof of purchase.
