DEALERS WORLDWIDE are being given the tip and the nod that AMD will make price changes on the 11th of November. The day before that, Intel will really show everyone what a cut down processor is by launching a 2.2GHz Pentium 4 Celeron at a ridiculously low price which will irritate friends and foes alike.
Prices of AMD parts will stay the same on the XP2200+ and higher speeds -- those that are available, of course.
But under the 2200+ threshold, the Hector Ruiz Effect (HRE) will, err, take effect, with prices being slashed and burned as if they were worn out maize stalks in a field, the INQ understands.
