Testers for Microsoft's Windows XP Media Center Edition Beta have been informed that a new build is available to test. Unlike beta 1 (based on XP SP2 RC1), beta 2 is based on Windows XP SP2 build 2137.

The updated build has no changelog currently and we will update this post with what's new and what to expect from MCE 2005 later today.

Hmm... Does Media Center 2005 ship with SP2 final, or is it just 2004?

MCE 2004 was renamed to MCE 2005. And if I'm correct, it should ship along with XP SP2 final.

/edit - Oops! Sorry, It was the Tablet PC Edition that was renamed to 2005.

That's pretty hard considering Media Center 2004 was already released as a product... Media Center 2005 would have to have new stuff in it.

I want to test it on my HPzd7000. I wonder if they have anyone testing it on laptops with external TV tuners.
