Microsoft has launched MSN Music in 8 new European countries today. Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Spain, Holland, Austria and Switzerland will all be able to download Music from the MSN Music service.

MSN Music was launched in America initially in readiness for Windows Media Player 10 (Microsoft's latest audio/video player). On average downloading music with MSN Music is more expensive than iTunes in Europe. iTunes by Apple charges 0.99 euros per tune whereas Microsoft charge between 0.99 and 1.29 euros for each song. iTunes is Apple's music player and download service designed primarily for iPod owners.
