Monster Worldwide Inc. said Monday that Jeff Taylor, who founded job search Web site Monster.com, is leaving the company in August to start a new Internet venture.

Monster said it would provide some capital to Taylor's new company, although it did not provide any details on the business plan other than to say it is not employment-related and is still in its early stages.

The statement also said Taylor would serve as an outside advisor to Monster on strategic issues and brand-building initiatives. Taylor's day-to-day responsibilities will be assumed by other executives.
