When Windows Live Messenger’s “i’m Making a Difference” challenge was first announced, Microsoft said it would award a dollar for every member to the winning non-profit organization (the maximum donation sum being $50,000). The group’s member numbers surged quickly - there are 62,795 members at the time of this newspost - allowing the software giant to make the full donation. After grabbing the most votes, the Humane Society of the United States is receiving the $50,000 donation from Windows Live on behalf of the Facebook group and its members.
“The Humane Society has been working since 1954 to celebrate animals and confront cruelty in all its forms. It's the nation's largest and most powerful animal protection organization, working tirelessly to advocate for a population unable to advocate for itself. We hope this contribution helps them continue their vital work. To everyone that joined the group: Thank you! Thank you for joining, thank you for telling your friends, and thank you all for speaking out passionately on the wall and the message boards. Together, we are truly making a difference!” read a note on the Facebook group's page.

Animals are important and need the money too!
I am glad that an animal charity got the money.

An animal is more important than a person?
Couldn't agree more. What a bonehead choice. How about send it down to the Louisiana area, they still need it...?
Dog is Loverelax all the charities are winners. The Humane Society just got an extra $50,000 from people's votes. Don't get mad at Microsoft for what people voted for.

Dog is LoveBecause there are already numerous federal and state agencies that should be helping with Louisiana? $50,000 wouldn't rebuild a house, but it could save hundreds of animals.

How about you stop with your boneheaded speciesest views and start remembering that many Animals are treated cruelly by humans every day and need someone to support them. They are alive creatures too nd we share our planet with them, neither is more important than the other.
if it gets to extend beyond the US and actually help with people who are suffering, like animals trapped in big cities full of people = helpless , people trapped in places they cant live in = also helpless ...
Because, terminally ill children and disabled people have a LOT of enemies? lol, I don't think your logic holds water.
