Steal This Film 1, which was downloaded nearly 3 million times, has now been succeeded officially (as the sequel premiered and was ironically leaked last month) by none other than Steal This Film 2. By producing this video, the League of Noble Peers, which features many prominent individuals from the BitTorrent community, has the goal of “bringing new people into the leagues of those now prepared to think 'after intellectual property', think creatively about the future of distribution, production and creativity.” For those still confused, Steal This Film is a series documenting the movement against intellectual property. The films discuss piracy culture as well as raids against file sharing websites. In the spirit of piracy, the movie is completely free for download.

lol. Well, is it any good?

I know the "you get what you pay for", but good sex is actually often free too, so it doesn't always hold up.

You're obviously not married...

Us men ALWAYS end up paying for sex, in one form or another.

Exactly. Money out of pocket sex is actually cheaper than the alternative. Well, unless you get AIDs and die. But I guess that is a possibility either way.

Well, if the sex is the sole purpose of your relationship, and not the relationship itself. In other cases, it's more like a secondary thing in a relationship, and "payment" is done in many more ways than monetary or sexually, and the other partner should (in a working relationship) do plenty of the same to you.

Especially Shadrack's IMO shallow opinion is a bit worrying to me, but hey, we're all different. Some think prostitutes are a better "deal".

First 13 Minutes and already i can say, what a snooze-fest.

EDIT: Okay, It's 44 minutes of some random blokes trying to justify piracy ... nothing else.

Major gibbish talk for me

Any movie that don't show or even support captions really do suck in my opinions. 99% of DVD's all over the world supports English captions for deaf people like me. So this movie is going into the trash.

Whoa. sorry. I didn't visit that website. Thanks for that. So how do I load it into WMP. I downloaded the xvid version.

EDITED: Just googled and found out to use Media Player Classic and load the srt file into it.

A very interesting video indeed. This is not fully about piracy but more about information control.

Basically, they're saying, piracy is here to stay whether some people like it or not, so they talk about the pros/cons, and whether to glorify it or bring it down. ... so ... let it be.

Sounds like they've been getting ideas from the old "Don't Copy That Floppy" video.

If the movie is free you can't really pirate it.
#7.1 Slimy on 30 Dec 2007 - 09:28
haha yeah, I was thinking more of "every movie should be free" but you're completely right, the implied meaning is a little off

Copyright laws have nothing to do with price. It is perfectly possible to pirate something that is free. It's copyrighted so you can pirate it.
#8 GEIST on 30 Dec 2007 - 18:29
The only reason this film is free is because nobody would spend money on that piece of junk. How do you steal something that's free anyways?
