Live Search integrated into Facebook

In July, Microsoft and Facebook had made a search and advertisement deal, which meant that Live Search would be integrated into Facebook, along with advertisements. Well, the search has finally started to appear in Facebook now.

When you start typing in the search bar at the top right of your homepage, you’ll notice a ‘Search the Web’ option. This is a very clever placement for Live Search, and I expect this to work in favor for Microsoft’s search efforts. The search results are displayed in native Facebook style search results. Related text ads for the search results are shown at the right, showing how the new layout has been thought out well for monetary benefits by Facebook. The search results are provided by Live Search but directly open the search results upon clicking. Notice there is also a link for advanced search.

The search is also accessible from the All Results page, through the Web link.

I like facebook for the fact that it has put me back in touch with so many old friends and even relatives, but it has to be the worst coded site I have ever had the misfortune of using.

It just feels like browsing through ****.

And who uses the search there? MS must think somebody does.

I dunno what you're talking about. I think it's an amazing piece of coding.

I also use the search, but only to get to a friend's page really quickly - not something I'd be needing a 'search the web' feature for.

Translation: "I hate Facebook because it's MS stuff, I'd rather use MySpace.com. I hate you all."

I think you need to slap your translator. I've got 4 PC's all running a Microsoft OS, and a 360.

compared to myspace, i think face book is way better. I just think that myspace is too unorganized.

Agreed. It's too unrestrictive as well. Every MySpace profile you go on has a million pictures loading, some **** song playing, and a load of other crap in the middle.

The search must be region specific because it's not showing for me here in the UK

It's showing for me. Shows in list format when you type. You can have mine if you want CH, I won't be using it.

I'm sure this deal had absolutely nothing to do with the new facebook upgrade.

It's a crying shame, i loved facebook and it got me in touch with some old friends. However with the Live search i've had to cancel my account over moral and privacy issues.
