Cant wait for socialized medicine. When do i get my check from the rich?

I know a guy who voted for him just because he was black. He said if we have a black president then the world wouldnt think we are racists. I said the rest of the world is as racists as the USA. He just dropped it. Way to vote.

So you would rather have more tax breaks for the wealthy, and have your healthcare taxed?
#3.2 Mekun on 05 Nov 2008 - 07:07
So we should redistribute money from people we think have more than enough? The problem with health care is the cost. Obviously the market for health care isnt reflecting what people can pay. As long as people are trying to figure a way to pay for it instead of figuring a way of driving the costs down how is it going to get better?

His skin colour is brown, no such thing as black skin.

I wish in Britain that we would elect a candidate that was brown/afro caribbean.

It would never happen in my lifetime, which goes to prove that the majority of Americans are fair, not racist and have voted on policy rather than anything else.

If you're asking if people with more money should pay higher taxes than poorer people, then yes.

I am one of the few members of my family that makes less than $200K/yr, and most of them make much more. I have spoken to many wealthy people and they have been surprisingly forward on the issue. They and their peers laugh at people like you. Make no mistake, redistribution of wealth has always been, and it always flows up. You are just to blind to see it.

and on the flip side, I'm sure you know guys who voted against him just because he was black. It works both ways.

I'm doing the happy dance for change in America. YAY!

Change is not always necessarily a good thing.
#5.1 TRC on 05 Nov 2008 - 07:00
So you'd rather it stayed the same, because things sure were going great weren't they.
#6 Deadpool2k on 05 Nov 2008 - 06:12
YES WE CAN!!!! I voted Obama and i am so glad he won!

New Voters gave Obama a huuuuuuge help in this election. Young people made it possible
#7.1 unknownsoldierX on 05 Nov 2008 - 06:54
Actually, young voter turnout was only 13%. Up 1% from last year.

Thank God!, let's hope Obama & the rest of the Dumocrats screw up the US economy even more, I was sick and tired of hearing all this biased in the media towards Obama, the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ has arrived and he's now President Elect of the USA and he's Black. hey maybe Obama can get rid of those secret service agents and replace them with Black Panther bodyguards who'll work for half the price a SS agent would.
wonder if Oprah will get a cabinet post, or maybe she'll be Obama's press secretary, Jesse Jackson can be Secretary of Defense and Hillary for Secretary of State. It's gonna be an interesting 4 years, maybe they'll change the constitution to have Obama server more than 2 terms, after all it's gonna take more than just 2 terms to complete the change of America, if Bloomberg can do it, why can't Obama.

It was unfortunate John McCain was too nice throughout the campaign, and it cost him the Presidency.
#8.1 TRC on 05 Nov 2008 - 07:49
Did you get lost on your way to free republic? The insanity and crying is that way.
#8.2 Septimus on 05 Nov 2008 - 14:20
Wow, you are an utter moron.
#8.3 Airlink on 06 Nov 2008 - 03:59
Yea, go crawl back under whatever rock you crawled out from under, xpablo. Your friends the Neo-Con Criminals have had eight years to rape the US treasury and shred the US constitution; Now their time is drawing to a close.
Bush out! Obama in!

"It was unfortunate John McCain was too nice throughout the campaign, and it cost him the Presidency."

McCain was a total dick in his campaign. Should've talked about what he was going to do instead of just bashing Obama.

Both of them should've done WAY more fact giving in their campaign than they did, but McCains ads were NOTHING but bashing. I can't particularily remember a single commercial that wasn't bashing.

Thank goodness this crap is over with. They should make a law now that campaigning can't start until 6 months before the election. Absolutely stupid for this crap to go on for 2 years!!

And, no, I DIDN'T vote for either one of these characters, but yes, I DID vote for President.

Well someone has to do it. The media wasn't going to criticize him. They were to busy talking about Palin's clothes.

I find it very disgusting that the "hot topics" is health care and global warming. I also find it very surprising that people still believe that the president can actually change anything for the good of the people. Have we not learned that they do not give a damn about us? Banker Buy out anyone? Next year expect another war and then ask your self why.
#10.1 Liana on 05 Nov 2008 - 23:34
The most important issue to Americans right now is the economy. Global warming is a "hot topic" because if we don't do something about it we'll have mass climate shifts, species extinctions, cities under water, crops ruined....climate chaos, increased death and disease, economic losses, etc. Why do you find it disgusting that people would care about those things?

We'll see if Obama can really help bring about positive change. After the way the last 8 years have been, Obama is certainly inheriting an enormous mess with this economy, 2 wars, and a lot of policy changes that need to be undone. I wouldn't write him off even before he begins; let's see what happens.

Typhon is right. The president is just a tool, it's the people in the rear that do the deed. And no, they don't care about us; politicians all come from the same pack of liars.

LOL my mom always tell me, "if you want to be a politician, you have to learn how to lie." I guess that's what politicians do best.

It's funny how much the African-Americans really know, when they say they are so proud and happy to finally vote for a black president. Hes actually more white then he is black, because he was raised by his mother who is white.
#12.1 lord_xenos on 05 Nov 2008 - 21:12
It's not the point how he was raised or how he acts. Prejudice is blind. Being that his mother is white and his father is black, and many people have more resentment toward that, it is even more of a feat for him to be elected to office.

As long as scholarly sell-outs like Zbigniew Brzezinski play a key (nearly dominant) role in shaping American foreign policy, which as we have seen, certainly impacts domestic policy, expect this hyperbolic love affair with Obama to be shortlived. Then again, the average American probably won't know any better, as evidenced by the 2000 and 2004 elections.

In terms of morale and the dream of the Civil Rights movement, this was a watershed moment. But the fundamental attitudes which for over 30 years have cost America innumerable lives and money (costs which ultimately trickle down to the taxpayer) will likely remain. The American public needs to realize that the United States is a Colonial and Imperial power, the aims of which, have already and will continue to prove destructive and untenable.

This is what your leaders actually believe. It's nothing new, though. This plan and others like it have been in play for over 30 years.
