If Verizon had an iPhone would it keep you from switching? That's the question Verizon wants to know. BGR spotted a cancellation survey from Verizon that may shed some new light onto the future plans.Three questions from the survey all had the response option of an iPhone; "What is the primary reason you left?", "What is the primary reason you chose your new carrier?", "What could Verizon Wireless have offered you to keep you as a customer?"
It's the last question that Verizon asks about what they could have done to keep you as a customer. Verizon may be checking to see how many customers they are losing because of the iPhone. If they get a large response hopefully they will make an effort to bring the phone to its 80 million + subscribers.
Rumors from when the iPhone first launched suggested that Verizon turned down Apple's offer for the phone. It makes you wonder if they are now kicking themselves over that business move and may go crawling back to Apple for an iPhone of their own.

I hope Verison never gets the iphone. I think verizon charges too much compared to AT&T. Also, I have had AT&T for a while now, and never had a problem, before and after i got my iPhone.
There's no reason to hope Verizon doesn't get the iPhone. If AT&T's service is indeed better and/or cheaper, people will use it. Otherwise, there's no hurt in having a choice.
Last I checked though, many were unhappy with AT&T's service. Hell, a friend of mine just recently jumped to Verizon because of it.

The GSM is actually a deal breaker for me as I do alot of foriegn travel and it is easy to throw a SIM from a local carrier with little effort. Roll-over is nice because most months I don't use even half of my minutes but every once in a we go over and it nice to not have to pay for that.
I feel the same, seeing as though they shut down one of the towers in my area. We're down to two, and I don't even get 3G anymore. Hell I don't even get full service edge while I'm at my house. I go back and forth in and out of service now. Get decent coverage with Verizon at my house, but even after calling and complaining to 4 supervisors, I can't cancel my contract for another year and a half. ********.
Only in the US is LG a top brand.. all over the world.. its cheap and ****ty.. people don't even take notice of LG.. its more Nokia or Samsung.. To me whenever i see LG.. it reminds me of a Fridge.. i dunno why.. but it does..lol
The iPhone is Junk personally i plan one getting the Fuze, I'd love to have the X1
I would just go online and find how to hack the phone so that it could work with my network.
Interesting article on MSNBC about forcing all these carriers to carry the same phones and legalizing 'jail-breaking'. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29510498/
If you think iPhone has anything to do with it then you are really clueless about your own company.

Your right, they are clueless. That is why they formed the survey to get the facts. I absolutely hate Apple and ATT but I had to be realistic and admit that the iPhone really is a good product. I called my current provider to ask what the ETF would be and they said, "What, do you want an iPhone?". I said "Yes, do you get these calls often?", he said, "I take these calls all day".
I have no doubt that the iPhone it taking a chunk of biz away from all the providers.

Yup well sad. Have you seen those stupid Blackberry storm ads? they just suck.. really sad..
Do you have proof? last i checked Verizon did not want to comply with Apple's warranty and pricing terms, meaning Apple is the only authorized company to warranty the phones and they are the only ones to provide real support, also they set the prices for example you HAVE to get the internet plan and the 400 minute plan minimum, that is set by Apple and not by ATT. Verizon said screw it back then.
I left Sprint for AT&T to get the iPhone - my girlfriend left Verizon, as did my brother and his gf.
When my Sprint contract is up I want to get the iPhone, as I am tired of my Mogul and I use my iPod Touch more than I do my Mogul.
My Storm has a removable battery, upgradebly 8GB Micro-SD card, GSM capability, background application support, push e-mail. The only thing compared to the iPhone that it doe snot have is the ability to sync to my iTunes library (unless it does that with a 3rd party app) and a good selection of apps (hopefully the Blackberry App store fixes that). Until the iPhone get the background app and push e-mail I doubt I will get an iPhone with Verizon.
Background app is fixed by an app from Cydia, Push email yes, you sorta do have, you just don't get notified, but that's an update that is supposed to happen sometime... hopefully anytime soon...
what is SO bad about the iphone?
1.- I never had a problem 4 years ago when I had ATT (had to switch because my account got bought out by Alltel (long story) and it was easier and they gave us free phones )
2.- I then switched to Verizon and a BB Curve, i started to have problems and I went to the store, Verizon stores have an in-house tech support which turns out are useless and they told me you have to call customer service to get support... yeah... then I called and I was on hold (NO LIE) 45 minutes until I decided to hang up. Then I called again the next day I finally got through to someone and when they took my phone number they hung up on me and never called me back.
THEN i called again the next day and they told me that they don't have any phones to replace my BB Curve. Then I called again and they finally said we'll send you a new one then, you should get it in 3 days... 2 weeks later the phone came in but by then I was decided so I swithced to ATT and got tyhe iphone. Still never had a dropped call, I have service everywhere.
And after all that with verizon they still charged me a cancellation fee.. no discounts for all the trouble...
