Microsoft announces new applications for Windows Phones

Microsoft has announced many new applications for Windows phones through Windows Marketplace. EA Mobile, AccuWeather.com, The Associated Press, CNBC, Developer One Mobile Software and a whole lot of companies will deliver Windows phone applications through Windows Marketplace for Mobile.

Windows MarketPlace will allow:

Users to purchase applications on Windows Marketplace for Mobile either with a credit card or pay the charges through phone bill.
A full refund to be made if the application is returned after purchase within 24 hours.
Developers to provide updates to their applications for free throughout the application lifecycle.
Mobile operators to have a branded catalog to market their own applications and services.

Microsoft today announced that it will offer a variety of free designer themes to help people express their personal style on Windows® phones. Users will be able to personalize their Windows phones with:

Free and exclusive designer themes, color palettes and wallpaper.
Theme Generator, which will be made available at the windows mobile site later this year to enable users design and download their own UI themes.

Microsoft also announced that it has created new applications for Facebook and MySpace for Windows Phones. The new Facebook application, available for Windows phones for free in April allows users to capture video on their phone and upload it to Facebook. The new MySpace application will be available for free this summer.

Windows Live was not an exception with this long list announcements. A new version of Windows Live for Mobile will be available as a free download this week starting from April 2nd, in 25 languages which includes mobile versions of Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Contacts, Windows Live Spaces, Microsoft Live Search and enhanced photo upload capabilities. A new beta version of Windows Live Hotmail will also be made available through a mobile Web browser. The beta release includes a revamped UI, navigation enhancements for touch-screen devices, ability to see full HTML pages within e-mail messages and a new email search feature

i got an old version of windows live on the rom of my moto A3100
will it get replaced by the new version or end up with 2 windows live apps on my phone?

The new Windows Live will replace the old one. You wont end up in two versions

I wan an interactive Windows Live program for Windows Mobile like Desktop version. I'm so sick of poor Live Messenger for Mobile.

What do you mean? For a mobile IM client Live Messenger on Windows Mobile is the best I've seen and has been since it was originally released a few years back.

Installed successfully the Greek version (408 ) on htc touch but the interface defaulted to English. At the About screen it states that English-Greek languages are installed.

Any registry trick/hack to change default language?

Dangit, makes me want a Windows Phone now. Anyone know if these will work on Windows Mobile 2003? XD

I'm waiting for the HTC Touch Pro 2 to come out... on Sprint... yeah, it'll take a while. T_T
