For those of you who subscribed to the Palm Pre newsletter, you might have got a new email in your inbox: That's Palm showing off two Palm Pre applications: FlightView, that allows you to fly smarter - it even notifies you of flight delays; Fadango allows you to plan your entertainment sessions by showing you the local events and letting you buy your movie tickets.

I really want the Pre. Might have to wait a little while, but at lease it should be compatible with verizon.

But they are on the same kind of network so it wouldn't be hard after the contract up to move it to verizon too.

According to this article and some of the comments, the pre won't be on Sprint forever, it's likely it will follow suite with a 6 month exclusivity and then branch out.

Understandable really - palm need to sell as many phones as possible.

I can't wait until it's out in the UK - my Orange contract is rolling over so I can change network whenever I want - Here's hoping it is out on O2 though as they have the best network coverage in my area!

The Pre looks like the iPhne may finally have competition GUI wise plus the extras like background tasks. Will have to wait to see if the smaller screen is big enough for thigs like video though. Didn't Engadget say it might be out towards the end of May?
