T-Mobile Sidekick LX 2009 available for pre-order

Starting from April 17th, customers will be able to pre-order the latest and greatest Sidekick from T-Mobile, the Sidekick LX 2009. It will officially go on sale for $199.99, with a two-year service agreement and mail-in-rebate, on May 13th. It will be available in 'Carbon' and 'Orchid' finishes.



Social networking services seem to be the key focus on the latest variant of the sidekick, as evidenced by tight integration with Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Photobucket. Social media buffs should feel right at home with this handset.







What is most exciting about this version of the Sidekick, is that it finally supports features fans have been clamoring for some time now. These include:
  • 3G Connectivity
  • GPS
  • Youtube support
  • 3.2 MP Camera with Auto-focus and LED Flash
  • Exchange ActiveSync
  • MicroSD Card slot

Sidekicks are simply too large. They really should try slimming them down some.

Geez those things look terrible and have heard similar about using them. Mind you pre-teens and people who use them more as a fashion statement probably struggle to comprehend android winmo or iphone.

a true text messaging platphone uses those OS.

I'm not usually one to swear but as soon as I saw that phone I said 'That's f------ ugly!'

Too many things going on. The Material reminds me of the old Dell Dimnsion pc's

Yep in all my classes half the people are on their Sidekicks. I just leave my Diamond for lunch.

It seems everything is getting Exchange ActiveSync support these days... I wonder what teen (as this is targeted toward) would be feeding email from an Exchange server?

Sidekicks are horrible to text with.... 100 Texts max it holds and the OS is just horrible, it's fast and does AIM and other IM client really good, but everything else just sucks.
