Mitch is a twenty-year old student at the University of Toronto, pursuing a degree in the Philosophy of Religion. His long term goal is to obtain his doctorate in Philosophy and to teach. He is a proponent of secular humanism in his community and an advocate for the rights of the non-religious. Mitch's involvement in technology arose early in his life, having built his own computer at the age of eight. Since this time technology has become a passion for Mitch as he believes its evolution to be symbiotic with that of human thought. Having at one point considered a career in the world of computing Mitch opted to pursue other goals and keep technology to a hobby; he equates this with not wanting to date your best friend for fear of ruining the friendship. Writing is a second passion of his, as his area of study revolves heavily around discourse Mitch has found himself writing almost as much he eats (which is a large amount).
Mitch aims, through his writing, to offer a perspective that hasn't been thought of in depth. His primary choice of journalistic writing falls under the heading of 'editorial'. He is a strong believer that words have no greater purpose than to trigger thoughts and ideas into the reader, those which they may not have had without reading a certain piece of writing.
Mitch is heading a summer Philosophy project! - http://urbanphilosophy.net
