After a decent break without any Windows Phone hardware releases or announcements, it's nice to see some new leaks coming out. This one surrounds Samsung and two upcoming Windows Phone 8 smartphones they appear to have in the pipeline, as outed by court documents in the heated Apple vs Samsung trial.
The document describes "Odyssey" and "Marco" smartphones both slated for a Q4 2012 release, and both with Qualcomm's latest 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 chipsets that we found to be speedy in the HTC One XL. The Odyssey is the more premium of the devices, featuring a 4.65" Super AMOLED HD display (possibly the same as the Galaxy Nexus), LTE and HSPA+, NFC and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
The Marco is said to come with LTE as well, but no NFC and just a 4.0" WVGA Super AMOLED display and a 5-megapixel rear camera. The pictures of the devices, provided by The Verge, are very small, so there's no telling exactly what these devices will look like at this stage.
Look out for these devices towards the end of the year, which is when Windows Phone 8 is expected to be released.
