Well, for many years now i used it, i thought it was the best out there, but finally, when i had to do serious HEX work, it failed to serv me... It was very slow and didn't offer any major time-saving feature... What UltraEdit lacked, I found in WinHEX 10.4x which of course i recommend you check if you are intending to use this as a HEX editor rather than a programming/HTML code editor. I still use it though since it offers quite easy code lineout, helping my eyes out with editing VB and HTML code ;-) I would give it 3/5 because it's main purpose is to be a HEX editor and then all the rest

I have been using this for HTML/ASP/CSS for awhile. It works great. Adding custom color codes is pretty easy to.

the reason they keep updating this is that the crack groups keep cracking the registration process. search for ultraedit on astalavista.box.sk to see what i mean, there is like 200 different versions of this damn thing. Hell, I still use 6 - nothing has really changed, and they're on version 9.

So basicly #12 they keep upgrading because hackers keep cracking it? So if I use pir8 software then I am making software better?
