I've heard there is a way to compile it so it does not have to run using JavaVM, I'd like to know how this is done. I've always noticed this app being extremely resource heavy. I've been using uTorrent, but I'll try any app and see what works best for me.

If it didn't use JAVA, and was such a resource hog, I'd be all over it like a cheap suit

I'll bother with uTorrent when they support platforms other than Windows.

If you download that much, you should set up a spare PC solely for p2p and storage. Get an old piece of junk PC, slap a big HD, wi-fi card, and Linux (which will run on old junk that Windows won't) on it and you're all ready to go.
