FOR THE LOVE OF FUDGE.

1) Firefox 2.0.0.2 isn't released until the website is updated to reflect the fact, and the auto update system gets switched on. Why does neowin repeatedly jump the gun with this one?

2) FFS stop linking using ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/ -- that's ONE server, used by nightly testers and stuff to get their files. Use ftp://releases.mozilla.org/ which bounces people onto the load-balancing mirroring system.

Really, why does neowin always (and I mean _always_) make such announcements too early, and why does neowin always initially link to the ftp.mozilla.org until someone (usually me) complains. Can't you guys learn anything?

Agreed. It would also be nice if the posters used the correct terminology - this isn't a "follow-up" to Firefox, it's a new revision.

for en-GB users...

Windows: ftp://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.or....2/win32/en-GB/
Linux: ftp://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.or...nux-i686/en-GB/
Mac: ftp://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.or....0.2/mac/en-GB/

The updates are on the server(s) but I don't know how to get Firefox to manually update from a .mar file.

This version still pops up a little UAC message every time I run it. Anyone else managed to solve this problem (on Vista x64)
