Messenger Plus! Live is an add-on for Windows Live Messenger which adds lots of features and extras that make your instant messenger easier, more useful or just tons more entertaining. Remember that Messenger Plus! is not a chat program, it only adds functionalities to Messenger, it can't be used as a standalone application. Messenger Plus! is not an official add-on from Microsoft. Microsoft is aware of its existence, it tolerates it, but you can't contact the Messenger support team to get help on a Messenger Plus! feature. Also, Messenger Plus! has nothing to do with Windows Plus! or MSN Plus!, both products from Microsoft. That being said, Messenger Plus! is still, by far, the most popular and respected add-on for Messenger and thus, since the year 2001.

If you install it and don't remove it it will screw up your computer. Despite Mr. Pucculi's denials, if you do install it and then attempt to remove it, it still leaves residuals of the C2.lop hijacker on your computer. THE BEST OPTION IS TO NOT INSTALL THE SPONSORSHIP ROUTINES TO BEGIN WITH.
If I recall correctly, the installer uses something other than C2.lop for newer versions.
But go ahead and keep playing the paranoia game if you must.
That would be one of your aliases Mr. Paciullo, wouldn't it.
Like most trolls, when confronted with the truth you resort to name calling.

In Mr. Paciullo's responses to my posts on this matter he has never denied that his "sponsorship" program installs the C2.lop hijacker. I would be interested in seeing if he will do so now. However, given that I know it does, I doubt that he will.
What is installed is an adware from Circle Dev and previously from C2 Media. Everybody who cares to spend 2 minutes reading the setup screen and the beginning of the license agreement knows that. So instead of doing like most people saying the same thing do, which is posting links to other web site, install it and you'll see that all it will do to your system is display a popup once in a while. Once you're done, run the uninstaller and check your system with any tool you want, the uninstall will have done its job and remove all the files previously installed.
And yes, that's what I always say and for some misterious reason, most people then never reply or try to change the subject seeing this is actually what happens.
IMO I dont think it should be bundled with the sponsor, or at the very least, the installer should have the default as "dont install" when clicking next, too many ppl just accept and go - I had to clean a system last night for a customer in fact

You just admitted that you are asking users to install C2.Lop you fool. By claiming that you changed from C2 Media to Circe Dev without telling the users of your software that Circle Dev is a bundler that, in fact, installs C2 Media software is an indication of your complete lack of trustworthiness in this whole conversation. I have used your "Add On" in the past two weeks and have found some of the files listed in the quote below after running your so called uninstaller. The reason that most users will think you are being honest about what the removal tool does is because C2.Lop hides itself by mis-labeling exactly what it is installing. Quoted from Counter Spy's web site (see the C2.Lop link in my original post above).
"The lop installers finishes up by creating a registry entry to load a file named mp3serch.exe (or lopsearch.exe if you have the download_plugin.exe installer) at every boot. This entry will make Windows load the lop executable file on each machine restart. Other variants of C2 Media's software omit the browser and BHO altogether, and instead install dozens of internet shortcuts and sets the home page to http://unitedstates.rub.to. The installer for this variant may be named mp3.exe or freemp3z.exe. These files may appear on your computer as a result of an activex script which automatically begins to download them when you load pages at certain mp3 and/or pornographic web sites. The files are digitally signed by C2Media, the company which owns the lop.com web site and software. The most recent versions of C2 Media's software are installed by third-party adware bundlers (esp. download assistants, BitTorrent clients, and Microsoft Messenger add-ons) and may go under the names Zone Media, CiD, or Circle Development."

Don't forget to take your pills my friend.
Like most trolls, when confronted with the truth you resort to name calling.
Yep, because as was made obvious by your previous posts, you're completely closed minded. You won't listen to what anyone has to say about it, no matter how valid of a point they make.
The facts are there. You can choose not to install the sponsorship. Period. That's it. There's no if's, and's, or but's about that. If you mess up and click next and install it, you can easily, EASILY remove it. If they are computer savvy enough to find out about Messenger Plus! Live, they can find something to remove it.
Even after I say all that, even after all this has been tested and proved correct, you ignore it, and keep going on with you war against Patchou.
Why, anyway? Did he do something to you in a past life? Did his software directly insult you or a family member? Did he ever even contact you at all before you openly insulted him and condemned his software?
I'm not a troll, I'm just a person who's said it all before, and eventually just realized that people like you, they need to be insulted, because it's the only way to penetrate your brain at all. If nothing else, at least find something interesting to complain about. Everybodies heard the, "it's like a bomb in your computer that just waits until the right moment to blow up." Find something wrong with the software itself, THEN complain about it in the FORUMS, and perhaps he will get around to fixing that.
Also, your logic appears to be broken. By calling me a troll you were categorizing me into the category of "trolls". Which is the same as me putting you in the category of "morons". So, I guess by your logic, the fact you insulted me and called me a troll, means you were confronted by the truth, which means I was right in calling you a moron.

His software installs malware. Despite his denials. In fact, even without installing the "I Want to Support" routine, his latest ploy "The Contest" installs a back door Trojan on your machine. How do I know this? Both spyware terminator and Windows defender flagged it as such. When I had them remove the offending .dll guess what? The "Contest" Icon disappeared from Windows Live Messenger. The man is a scam artist making money off of unsuspecting users of his software. I called you a troll because you offered nothing the conversation except to call me a name. Typical troll behavior, if you can't attack the logic attack the poster.
Where did they hide the option to kill the Messenger ads? That's all I care about...otherwise...it's off my system.

A new version of APatch that works with Messenger 8.5 can be found here

They are pretty much identical, but I'd go with APatch, purely because Mess.be are full of arrogant selfish people, who do their best to stifle and control the modding community to help themselves.
It doesn't help that the website looks awful, is not very usable and hard to find what you want.
And their pathetic paranoia over hot-linking means the site doesn't work properly with tabbed browsing/new windows.
Go with A-Patch
