- What's with the ridiculous "Windows Live Installer" on this? I just want to install Messenger at this time. Very strange. I'm not even going to try running this installer. I'll just wait for a proper MSN Messenger release/installer/update, thanks.

When was the last time there was a MSN Messenger? It's been Windows Live Messenger for close to a year now, if not more.

I have a lot of choice.
Such as leaving this crapware alone!!
You mean people still actually use these things? I do not know a single soul who still has an IM program on their machines. Of course, I tell everyone whose computer I work on how insecure and crapware loaded they all are!!

Crapware-loaded? Did you ever try MessPatch for Windows Live Messenger? I guess not.
An advice: if you can search in it, Internet can be VERY useful at times. -

- What ****es me off about Windows Live Messenger is that nobody seems to care about performance, I read the Windows Live team blog and the WLM changelog but they NEVER say anything regarding performance improvements.
With each new version it seems they just add more bloat and needless features, how about removing all the fat and making it look like Windows native software, for once? -

- Agreed. I've gone to task manager and found WLM using second highest amount of RAM, and in total has used MORE I/O bytes than any other process (this is on a system with google desktop etc, and I go for many days without restarts). I end up exiting WLM completely and restarting when I want it because it just uses up so much RAM. Really is sad how long it takes to start up / show the main window. It's an IM client, it should not take this long.

- I guess I'm going against the curve, but I actually like the integrated installer. I use some of the other apps, such as Writer and Photo Gallery. It makes installing those apps after a reformat easier.

- i have the new build installed however i have yet to actually see anything that has changed in this beta version than the other versions of the beta. so can someone either update us with the change log or at least just tell us what the differences are so that we can figure out the difference. because honestly i am not sure why there is even a update if there is nothing that i being changed. they could have just left it for the final release of the software.

I mean, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" - seriously, what are they thinking just tinkering around with the "Look and Feel"?
It was cosmetically absolutely fine!
Focus on the damn performance and try lowering the memory it hogs! I just noticed mine eating away 44mb while Miranda sits there nicely on like 7mb.
And yes, the new look is a step backwards. I am gonna stick with 8.1 for now till someone tells me there has been performance enhancements.
