Don't forget to choose I refuse give my support, don't install the sponsor.

If you choose the other option it will install spyware Adware on your computer.

Edit: Ignorant correction, so ignorants and non-ignorants can understand.

The sponsor is not spyware. It is stripped down adware.

Don't forget people can actually read.

There is no spyware in the sponsor program. I'm getting tired of ignorant people.

Yes, people can read, however not all of them do that, don't forget.

Yes, my bad, that's not spyware it's Adware.

But it's quite interesting that you are tired of ignorant people when actually you waste time with them.

Who cares!? Honestly! It's all ADVERTISEMENTS and no one wants that!
Spyware/adware - whatever, it's all the same junk to me. I don't want any of it!

I'm also getting tired of people speaking for everyone. You do not speak for everyone. I know quite a few people that have installed this sponsor to support Messenger Plus!.

It's funny how people can own themselves that easily, specially people that are tired of "ignorant people".

Ok, fine. I'll correct myself. 99% of people do not want advertisements on their computer.

That's nice. Give them all a cookie. I don't know anyone who would willingly install advertisements on their computer.

Any program (even with the opt out) that could install spyware/adware is not to be considered a quality product. Neowin shouldn't even have it posted.
#2.1 th3rEsa on 16 Dec 2007 - 17:14
NeoWin contains "adware", too. Or do you block the ads?
#2.2 Eis on 16 Dec 2007 - 17:25
Thanks for publicly announcing you have no idea what you're talking about. Did the green monster of jealousy bite off your penis like the other would-be MPVs?

Your mother must be proud by your well educated, mature response.

Now I know the IQ level that believes spyware/adware contained programs are of high quality calibur.

So what keeps you from blocking the Msgplus ads, too?

Quality of a product is not at all affected by the add-ons included with it. Daemon tools, for example, is an excellent product that does the same thing Messenger Plus! Live does - includes an optional sponsor. Winamp is an excellent product that does the same thing, albeit less intrusive.

That's fine if you believe any program with an optional sponsor included with it is the scum of the universe and I'm sad that you're missing out on a lot of useful, high quality applications, but there is nothing wrong with Neowin allowing the posting of what you fail to see is a quality product. You're welcome to have your opinion - you are not welcome to force your opinion down other peoples' throats, however.

Too bad they don't have a program where it filters out ignorant people armed with a keyboard. THAT is worse than ANY kinds of ad-ware out there.

Then you wouldn't be on the internet. Nobody would. Sorry we're not professionals about every subject out there.
I love how people can rip out the word ignorant because not everyone knows the difference between spyware and adware. However we do know that advertisements = unwanted.

I'm sorry but, considering you're going out of your way to insult and shut down an amazing addition to WLM, I'm going to have to assume my response was actually quite appropriate. Why else would you be here, saying this, if you did not have a grudge against Plus!, or the owner, Patchou?

Are you just really bored? Did you just read a scary book on adware and decide to help out the community with your advice and negative opinions of the software, and in the process of doing so insult more members than you've helped? Or are you really just, like I said, jealous of someone elses accomplishments.

Also,

Really? I think I'll call your bluff. What's my IQ, and everybody elses who uses the program?

This argument has been going on ad nauseum since the program was first introduced. If any of you have tracked this, you'd know that the "Adware" this thing installs includes links to porn sites and other nasty places on the web including key logger sites. Personally I wont have it on my machine
#4.1 Patchou on 16 Dec 2007 - 19:53
right... it also poisons your lunch and authorises the execution of a puppy in your name.

I have removed the sponsor on a few peoples pcs after it had reduced the performance to a crawl - It may work fine if you have a good cpu and sufficient ram but beware if you are short on system resources!
#4.3 EvilSeph on 16 Dec 2007 - 21:51
Yes, this is the case...if you installed and tracked the first revision of the sponsor. Any revision after that has gone through testing prior to it being made public and any obscene ads have been obliterated. For the record, I've never seen an ad for a nasty place that includes key loggers.

I'm glad you allow other people to have their opinions, if you don't want it on your machine - that's fine, simply opt out of it. It isn't that hard is it? I don't see what everyone is making such a big deal about.

Strange, I've seen it running just fine on what the general public might consider a system short on resources. Was the sponsor the only adware installed? Usually this is not the case.

So why can you voice your opinion but then if others voice theirs then you whine about it.
If you want advertisements on your computer - that's fine, simply install it and enjoy them. It isn't that hard is it? I don't see why you're making such a big how the majority of people DO NOT want ANY forms of ADWARE on their computer.
Sheesh. I swear, it's like you work for their ad company.

Great program I love the tabbed browsing!

If you'd rather not receive advertisements on your computer, then be sure to check "I refuse to give me support. Don't install the sponsor program".

Thanks for the comments (and please, everyone, try to comment the software if you want to post about this, not its optional installation package).

Thanks for this great app.

Great program. Like the tabbed feature. A must have, imo.
