Kantaris is an all new media player based on code from Videolan client (VLC) and Bass audio library. Kantaris has a graphical user interface similar to that of Windows Media Player. Kantaris can play almost anything you can throw at it -- AVI, MPEG, MGEG-AVC, WMV, MOV, MKV, quicktime, matroska, divx, xvid, H264, MP3, WMA, OGG files and more. Kantaris can also play DVD's and audio cd's. The player also displays some of the most beautiful music visualisations ever seen. All this is completely free.

What's New:
  • New "play folder" feature.
  • Fixed bug in loading of DVD's.
  • A few other minor changes.

I'll give it a try, ee it it's better than GOM, while GOM is better than VLC, it's kind of slow and annoying, maybe these guys did a betterjob of makign a pretty VLC with some real usability.

though I doubt it will replace KMPlayer and FFDShow.

bad start, it seems to only want to run the movie from th to left corner, so if the movie s 640x480 res, the whole video picture must be within that ox of your dekstops upper left corner, anything outside that, becomes the lst pixels of that box stretched out and down....

weird. not a very good first impression, but I won't give up on it quite that fast, must be a setting or something...

Well among the extremelyu limited options for preferences this player provides switchign from directX output to Windows GDI fixed the stretchign issue by makign the quality crap...

Well Maybe I'll give it anohter chance when the version number hits .5 or 1.x
