Digsby provides you with IM, email and Social networks in one easy to use application.

Instant Messaging - Digsby is a multiprotocol IM client that lets you chat with all your friends on AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Google Talk, and Jabber with one simple to manage buddy list.

Email Notifications - Digsby is an email notification tool that alerts you of new email and lets you perform actions such as 'Delete' or 'Report Spam' with just one click.

Social Networking - Digsby is a social networking tool that alerts you of events like new messages and gives you a live Newsfeed of what your friends are up to.

Version 38 onwards is a stub installer that includes numerous toolbars etc., we recommend you do not install these.

I switched to this from Pidgin somewhere around 5 months ago. I first installed it 8 or 9 months ago, it was pretty good then, and it just keeps getting better and better. When updates are available, they are applied automatically upon logging into the Digsby account(which takes less than 30 seconds to create if you know how to type.) They just added MySpace IM somewhere around a week ago, so now it has notifications and chat capability on both MySpace and Facebook. They cleared up an issue with the "Research Module" that uses CPU power and bandwidth when the computer is idle. It is now optional, more configurable and clearly explained, and off by default. Also, they cleaned up the installer so it only asks you to if you want to install the Digsby toolbar instead of the numerous other programs it used to ask if you wanted. The developers listen to the users and are active in the forums answering questions and taking suggestions. If you care about video chat capability, it's not the program for you, not yet anyway. Skins, sound themes, conversation themes(such as one ported from Adium) and emoticons are available at Digsbies.org. I made my own Nine Inch Nails sound theme. "Hey Pig!" when someone signs on 2 thumbs up here.

I actually dislike this feature. If you are on a slow connection, it takes quite a long time to update Digsby. And sometime I don't have time to wait, I just want to chat, and last I checked, there's no way to turn off auto updates. Using Trillian Astra beta for the time being.

And they should remove the links for OSX and Linux on top, as they are not available.

It's good to see they finally took on board the concerns raised about the stub installer and research module. Still my IM client of choice on Windows.

Why the links for a Mac and Linux version? They are inexistent and have been "coming soon" for months...
