Intel will reportedly end sales of WiGig components for Broadwell and Skylake systems, though they will still be available for Kaby Lake. The company will refocus its WiGig efforts elsewhere.

Microsoft has revealed that the upcoming Creators Update for Windows 10 will include support for the new 60GHz Wi-Fi 802.11ad protocol, and says it will enable wireless docking in a future update.
For years the Wi-Fi Alliance has been promising the introduction of the new wireless standard. Dubbed WiGig, the new technology is expected to become mainstream next year and offer excellent speeds.
