$1.1 Trillion for Game Industry in 2003

From Gamasutra (free registration required) comes the annual "Entertainment and Media Outlook" report from PricewaterhouseCoopers. Their outlook for the game industry looks bright for 2003 - consumer spending worldwide may surpass $1.1 trillion(!), increasing 3.7% from 2002. Driven by the growth of broadband connections, wireless (cell phone) entertainment, and the influence of next-gen consoles, PricewaterhouseCoopers predicts that the videogame industry will become the U.S. market"s fastest growing sector of the entertainment and media category this year.
