A photograph revealing the supposed specifications of Apple"s upcoming 13-inch MacBook Pro refresh has leaked. Unlike recent rumors, however, the photograph indicates the model will be sporting a rather pedestrian 1280x800-resolution display.
While previous rumors indicated the upcoming MacBook refresh would feature a version Apple"s Retina screen, it appears those rumors were false – at least for the 13-inch model. One rumor that does appear to be true, if the leaked specifications are real, is the inclusion of USB 3.0. According to the specifications, the 13-inch MacBook Pro will feature two USB 3.0 ports, the first time the new USB standard has been included in an Apple product. The company isn"t abandoning its Thunderbolt port, however, as the device will still feature a single Thunderbolt port.
As expected, the upcoming MacBook Pro revision will include a processor refresh, according to the photograph. The new baseline MacBook Pro model will include a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel i5 processor, a step up from the current 13-inch baseline MacBook Pro"s 2.4GHz i5 processor.
Also of note is the fact that the physical specifications appear to be keeping with the current MacBook Pro"s design. Given that the dimensions of the product are the same – 12.78" by 8.94" by 0.95" – it appears the 13-inch MacBook Pro won"t feature the rumored redesign. It"s still possible, however, that the Retina display and thinner redesign could be featured in the 15-inch model, however, which would be keeping with the previous rumors reported by 9to5Mac.
