Next week, Microsoft will release the $399 2TB Launch Edition of its new Xbox One S console, and today, it opened pre-orders for the first bundles featuring the more affordable 500GB and 1TB models, which will begin shipping towards the end of August.
The imminent arrival of the new console has led to falling prices for the current Xbox One, which originally launched in November 2013. In the US, its price dropped this week to just $249, down from $349 two months ago.
But buyers in the States aren"t the only ones who can enjoy big savings on the older console. Across the Atlantic, in the UK, leading retailer Tesco is now offering the 500GB Xbox One Quantum Break bundle for £199. But as VideoGamer"s David Scammell pointed out today, you can get a further £20 off that price.
After you add the £199 bundle to your basket, proceed through the checkout process as normal. On the order page, under "Payment", you"ll find the option to use an "eCoupon"; enter the code TDX-KHTX, and then click the Add button to apply the code.
You should then find that £20 has been deducted from your total, reducing the price of the console bundle to £179.
The discount code can apparently be used when you spend £150 on other "selected electricals and gaming" products from Tesco before August 7 - but bear in mind that retailers sometimes withdraw availability of these codes before they"re due to expire, so if you"re considering a purchase, don"t wait too long.
