When Microsoft revealed the Xbox One X, many believed it would suffer the same fate as the PlayStation 4 Pro, which up to this point, hasn"t seen huge support from developers in general. But it would seem that the console from Microsoft will get a lot more love come this November.
After the console was revealed, Middle Earth: Shadow of War was touted as the first 4K HDR enhanced title. Shortly after, many other developers followed suit, pointing to how easy it was to develop for the system. Most notably, games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Elite: Dangerous will be upgraded to take full advantage of the system, and at E3, games like Anthem and Assassins Creed: Origins was shown to support it as well. Although the console will not receive 4K support on all games, as Microsoft pointed out, saying "it is up to developers"; it is great to see these creators put in the time and effort for a console that hasn"t even gone on sale yet.
As reported earlier, the console will download these enhanced features for all games regardless of the display connected to the system. According to Microsoft, this is to ensure that gamers get a consistent experience on the console, which is expected since you might not want to download hundred of gigabytes of updates to get the full experience once you do connect a 4K display.
