Like a syndicated weekly dance program from the decade it touts so highly, Activision"s Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s is Solid Gold. Actually, the publisher today just announced that the game has "gone gold," saying development on the PlayStation 2 exclusive has finished and it should be on shelves July 24.
The publisher also released the last batch of the game"s 30 songs, and as expected, Activision has secured the rights to use the original recordings of some popular songs by the original artists. The game"s full setlist is reproduced below.
Guitar Hero Encore Rocks the 80s is rated T for Teen and will be the last game in the series from original developers Harmonix. Tony Hawk"s Pro Skater developer Neversoft is taking over the franchise beginning with Guitar Hero III, while Harmonix is preparing rival rhythm game Rock Band. Both titles are set for release later this year for multiple platforms.
