Last week, images hit the Internet of an alleged and upcoming 8-inch Windows 8 tablet made by Acer. The company made a number of Windows 8 product announcements today, but the tablet was not among them. That has not stopped Amazon.com from already posting up a pre-order page for the tablet, however.
The product page for the Acer Iconia W3 claims the 8.1-inch tablet has a display resolution of 1280x800 and costs $379.99, although that price could be altered when Acer officially reveals the product. The listing shows it has an Intel Atom A4 processor running at 1.5 GHz. along with 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage, though the amount of usable storage is likely much smaller because of the amount of space Windows 8 takes up.
The listing claims the Iconia W3 has up to eight hours of battery life and weighs 1.1 pounds. That"s presumably without the optional keyboard accessory that has been seen in other leaked pictures of the tablet. It also claims that Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 is installed, although that might be a trial version.
Neowin has emailed Acer for more information, as the company has yet to officially announce the tablet.
Update: That was quick; Amazon has now pulled that Amazon.com listing off their site.
