Today marks one month until Windows 10 officially launches July 29th, but Microsoft isn"t slowing down its Insider Program just yet. Gabe Aul, Manager of the Operating Systems Group at Microsoft, teased a new PC building coming "soon". Keep in mind that builds usually don"t come out on Mondays and Fridays, meaning this build should be in our hands in the next couple days, a good sign for eager Insiders.
We can speculate the upcoming build will include the Phone Companion App which has been spotted in several recently leaked builds. The Phone Companion App allows the user to set up his/her Windows Phone, iPhone, or Android device to take advantage of all the different services Windows 10 will integrate with, via respective store links to several key Microsoft apps.
As we"re this close to release we should expect a faster, more polished, and less buggy build. The last build that went public (10130) proved itself to be quite stable, with it eventually getting pushed out to slow ring Insiders.
The new release will most likely continue this trend and be somewhere in the range of Build 1015x There are some hints pointing to Build 10154 as the potential candidate for release as it has been recently released to Microsoft"s partners. An even newer build 10159 was teased by Gabe Aul.
It is currently unknown if this upcoming build will be the last PC build Insiders receive before Windows 10"s official launch. Microsoft has already said Insiders will be able to update to the final version of Windows 10 and even announced they would be continuing the Windows Insider Program after July 29th for interested users.
However, with only a month left to go, it is more likely Microsoft will shift focus to the final release for PC instead of pushing out a new Insider build or other related fixes. After all, they have another release to plan with Windows 10 Mobile coming this Fall.
