Acer announces availability of its Ryzen 4000-powered Swift 3 and Aspire 5

At CES this year, AMD announced its new 7nm Ryzen 4000 processors, and one of the first partners on-board to announce new products was Acer. Today, the company announced availability details for its new Ryzen laptops, the Swift 3 and Aspire 5.

The Swift 3 (SF314-42) uses an octa-core AMD Ryzen 7 4700U with Radeon Graphics. It weighs in at just 2.6 pounds, coming in an aluminum chassis, and it"s 0.63 inches thin. It also comes with a 14-inch FHD 16:9 display, not to be confused with the Intel model that was also announced at CES, which is 3:2.

Acer Aspire 5

The Aspire 5 (A515-44) has a hexa-core AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor, which also has a 15W TDP. It comes with a 15.6-inch FHD TrueHarmony display, and you can have it configured with up to 24GB RAM, a 1TB PCIe SSD, and up to a 2TB HDD.

The new Swift 3 starts at $629.99, and it will arrive in April. The Aspire 5 is a bit more wallet-friendly at $519.99, and you"ll be able to pick one up in June.
